Watershed Information System Application
The
Watershed Information System (WISE)® is a
comprehensive system to manage, access, and analyze large
amounts of water resources data. Ten integrated modules access
this information rapidly to conduct complex watershed analyses.
With full implementation, WISE gives the community a full
array of tools for managing and analyzing water resources
data.
WISE's power and flexibility lies in
features such as:
 |
innovative open data storage
system |
 |
tiling of data to handle
massive datasets for watershed and statewide modeling |
 |
built-in quality control
features to ensure accuracy |
 |
integrated data from field
surveys, photographs, aerial photography and land use |
 |
builds and stores models
in relational databases that can be accessed by multiple
users for a variety of tasks |
 |
easy modification and update
of data without manual data entry |
 |
built-in reporting functions
and query capabilities |
 |
interfaces with industry-standard
hydrologic and hydraulic models such as HEC-RAS, WinHSPF,
and SWMM |
Specifications
WISE relies on customized stand-alone
programs written in Visual Basic using ESRIs MapObjects,
ArcObjects and SDE technology. The system runs on Windows
platforms (2000 or XP).
The WISE application can be deployed
as either a single station system or a Citrix Terminal Server
system.
Modules
The WISE application is available for
purchase, either as specific modules or as a comprehensive
system. Each module works independently but integrates smoothly
with other modules for efficient management of data.
