Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is a Forum?
A Forum is an online discussion group.  Forums allow you to post a question, exchange ideas with other forum users, meet forum users around the country, find tips and tricks in software, and have a chat on hot topics.

What are the different categories of WISE forums?
We currently have forums for WISE Install & Upgrade and for WISE modules which include: Scoping, Terrain, Open Channel Inventory, Closed System Inventory, Hydrology, Hydraulics, WISE Administration, Water Quality, and Planning Tools, as well as General WISE Functionality, WISE on Citrix, Re-delineation, and WISE Mapping.  Each of these forums is for discussion of topics dealing with questions in each of these categories.

What does the moderator do?
Moderators control individual forums.  They can edit, delete, or prune any posts in a forum that do not conform to community guidelines.

What will registering do for me?
Although not required, it is recommended that WISE Support Forum users register with the forum.  Registration is free and protected by our Privacy Policy.

As a registered user you will be able to view both the public and the private forums. Registered users can create a “User Name” which appears with their posts.  They are not required to list an e-mail address with their posts, although they can if they choose.  However, you must submit a working e-mail address to Forum administrators as part of the user registration process.

Anonymous guests can read the posts on all boards, but they can submit posts only on the board titled Open to All, which appears under the category.  Moderators of WISE Support Forums can see the Internet IP addresses of all participating Registered Users and Anonymous Guest and determine their identity as necessary to enforce standards.

How do I register?
To register with WISE Support Forums click here.

How do I remove my registration?
Send an email to asking that you be removed from the forum.

WISE® Support Forums Community Guidelines

While we encourage free discussion of WISE topics, we have some rules of conduct.  By participating in the WISE Support Forums interactive community, you agree to adhere to these guidelines.

  • You should be careful how you write your messages as interpretation will vary from person to person.  Do not post in ALL CAPS.  Please take advantage of the built-in emoticons to add such expression to your words.
  • Do not flame or insult another user; such messages are subject to being edited out or deleted.
  • Posts that include language or links to other sites that offend other users are subject to being edited out or deleted.  This includes, but is not limited to, posts that are sexual in nature, racist, hateful, vulgar, links to adult content sites, etc.
  • Discussion of illegal activities such as software piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.  Do not ask for, offer to supply, or post links to, copies of commercial software, movies, CD keys, Product Keys, Serial Numbers, MP3s, etc., or any other intellectual property for which you do not hold the copyright.  Do not post full copies of copyrighted articles from elsewhere on the Internet; post a link to the article instead.
  • Keep the messages short.  Be descriptive, specific, and succinct in your postings.  If you want to transmit a large file, just mention the web site where it is stored or give the reader instructions for getting the file from you.
  • Links in signatures must not go to a product or service that competes with a product or service offered by Watershed Concepts, Hayes, Seay, Mattern & Mattern, Inc., or Watershed Solutions, Inc..  The forums are not a venue for advertisements.
  • Out of courtesy to other users, do not post random off-topic messages, especially in any given thread.
  • Do not post the same topic in more than one forum.  Pick the most relevant forum for your post. I f you are unsure, put it in the General Discussions forum, say you were not sure whether it belonged, and someone will move it to the proper forum for you.
  • If HTML is permitted, do not use advanced HTML such as frames or tables to alter the format of your messages.  Links and font/color changes are perfectly acceptable.  Conversely, if you do anything to render your text unreadable or otherwise, your posts may be subject to deletion.  Posts that misalign or otherwise corrupt the display of WISE Support forums are subject to deletion.
  • Ask your questions on the forums.  Private messages should only be used for issues that cannot be discussed in the public forums.
  • Private messages received on these forums are to be considered private and are not to be posted publicly unless the sender of the private message agrees.
  • Do not give any one you do not know the login information to your system passwords or personal account information.
  • Spamming the forums is prohibited.
  • Creating multiple user accounts is prohibited.
  • The WISE Support Forums are English only, as the majority of our users only speak English.  Post in English please.
  • Because your posting may be more pertinent to another on-going discussion, or it might spawn its own thread, it may be moved by the moderators.
  • Not responding to or ignoring moderator warnings can lead to suspension.

Watershed Concepts is not responsible for anything you do as a result of information or advice obtained at this site.  You should fully understand what a recommended change may do to your system.

Although the administrators and moderators of WISE Support Forums will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, we cannot be responsible for message content.  All messages express the views of the author.  We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.

These guidelines are subject to change.  Members that violate these rules may be suspended or banned.

Please:

  • If a newcomer displays ignorance of the forum rules, politely point out the Community Guidelines;
  • If you come across a posting that you find objectionable, please alert us at Support so that we can attend to it – do not respond on the forum.
