WISE® online support includes the ability to download
service packs and documentation related to WISE products. For
example a Service Pack for your WISE installation may be released
to correct a problem that was found after your product version
was released. You can go to the Watershed Concepts website
to download files like these and use them immediately, rather
than waiting for the software to arrive in the mail on CD-ROM. Additionally,
some files are available only online, due to timeliness, target
audience, or the cost of media.
This document provides general instructions for downloading
and handling Windows files from www.watershedconcepts.com. This
document is intended for WISE users using Windows-compatible
computers who are new to downloading files.

To download files from the Watershed Concepts web site:
- Click the download link. Most web browsers will prompt
you for a location to save the file. Choose a convenient
location, such as our desktop or accept the default. When
saving the file, take note of the default filename so that
you can locate the file after downloading it. After beginning
downloading, most web browsers will provide a progress indicator
to let you know how long the download will take.
- When the file has finished downloading, locate the file and
double-click it to open or install it.
What is a Self-Extracting Zip file?
A self-extracting Zip file is an executable file (.exe) that
contains a Zip file and a small program to extract (unzip) the
contents of the Zip file. Users can run (execute) a self-extracting
Zip file just as they run any other program: just double click
on the .exe file.
Opening .exe files
To open an .exe file, double-click the file. Watershed
Concepts recommends that you move each downloaded .exe file into
its own folder before running it.
Opening .zip files
After you download a .zip file, you can use the PKZIP or WinZip
utility to access the file’s contents.
Opening PDF files
To view a PDF file, open it in an Adobe Acrobat viewer (for
example, Adobe Reader). Adobe Reader is available for free
from all Adobe online services.
